Case: Insurance Fraud Investigation — organised insurance fraud (auto, property)
Initiators: a consortium of 5 insurers (RSA, Ingosstrakh, RESO, AlfaStrakhovanie, Soglasie). Suspected coordinated fraud.
Methods:
- Graph analysis: links between claimants, lawyers, clinics, repair shops and experts (15K+ nodes)
- Pattern detection: identical scenarios (staged braking, door slamming, garage fires), similar medical conclusions
- OSINT on the participants: social networks, registries, litigation, tax reporting
- Geo-analysis: clustering of accidents by coordinates (loops in specific districts)
- Financial tracing: payout flows → cash-out through drop accounts → distribution
Results:
- An organised crime group of 27 people uncovered: the organiser (a former insurance investigator), 3 lawyers, 2 neurologists and trauma specialists, 4 auto experts, 15 recruited claimants
- 142 fraudulent claims in 2023-2025, total claims 120M RUB, paid out 67M RUB
- Materials handed to the MVD (criminal code art. 159 part 4, art. 165). 19 arrests
- Detection rules developed for the RSA Anti-Fraud Platform and integrated into real-time screening of new claims
